Masked man in pajamas robs convenience store

A masked man wearing pajamas took cigarettes and a small amount of cash from a convenience store at the corner of Gibson and Halls Ferry roads, Sunday night, Sheriff Martin Pace said.

According to sheriff’s office reports, the robbery occurred about 9:36 p.m. Sunday when a man dressed in black pajamas and wearing a black mask and carrying a small caliber handgun entered the store. After taking the cigarettes and the money, he left on foot on Gibson Road. No arrests have been made and the robbery remains under investigation.

In other cases:

• A Vicksburg man faces drug charges after his arrest Monday morning at the Vicksburg Police Department, Sgt. Johnnie Edwards said.

Herman Lee Wiggins, 39, 2209 Pearl St., is accused of sale of cocaine and has an outstanding Mississippi Department of Corrections warrant for a drug violation.

• A Gucci wallet valued at $300 containing $700 was reported taken about 2:01 a.m. Sunday from Roca Restaurant & Bar, 1306 Washington St.

• Shots were reported fired about 4:43 p.m. Sunday at the New Main Apartments, 2727 Alcorn Drive.

• Shots were reported fired about 2:17 a.m. Saturday in the area of High and Ford streets.

• Fishing equipment and a camouflaged backpack were reported taken about 7:09 a.m. Saturday from a 2015 Toyota parked at the LaQuinta Inn, 4160 South Frontage Road. At the same time, a wifi device, Costas reading glasses valued at $400 and Maui John sunglasses valued at $200 were reported taken from a 2015 GMC Sierra pickup parked at the LaQuinta.

• An undetermined amount of change was reported taken about 10:22 p.m. Saturday from Mercy Seat MB Church, 5 Dos Casos Lane.

• A counterfeit $100 bill was reported passed Friday at the Dollar General Store, 2203 Clay St.

• Employees at the WaterView Casino, 3390 Washington St., reported about 11:15 a.m. Friday that a guest heavily damaged a room. The cost of the damage was estimated at $3,380.
