Frank James Neal

Frank James Neal was born Dec. 5, 1954, to Sam Neal Jr. and Doretha Smith Neal in Vicksburg.

His father, Sam Neal Jr. and sister, Gloria Neal White preceded him in death.

Neal received his education in the Vicksburg public school system. Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served his country for a period of two years, which he received an honorable discharge.

Neal accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age in his life and was baptized at Bethlehem M.B. Church of Vicksburg under the pastorage of the Rev. C.R. Redden.

Neal was known to go out of his way to help others; there was anything he wouldn’t do for someone. He was a good person and loved everyone unconditionally.

Neal worked at Waterways Experiment Station for several years. He also drove a school bus for Vicksburg public school system then moved to Dallas, Texas, where he drove for Steven’s Transport for 28 years.

Neal had a special bond with his family.

He is survived by many who loved him; a loving mother, Doretha Smith Neal of Vicksburg; one son, Timothy (Freda) Dewayne Parson of Vicksburg; three sisters, Starline (Raymond) Smith, Marlene Neal and Linda Jones, all of Vicksburg; five brothers, Raymond Smith, Jesse Neal, James (Carloyn) Johnson, Donald Ray (Teresa) Neal, all of Vicksburg, and Alfred (Sharolyn) Neal of Colorado Springs, Colo.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; four aunts, Eliza Sanders, Clara Cotton, Mary E Neal and Ernestine Neal of Chicago, Ill.; two uncles, Clarence Neal of Chicago, Ill., and Leon (Vivian) Neal of Vicksburg; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Cedar Hills Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2018, at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with family present from 6 to 7 p.m.
