Funeral services for Evangelist Mattie Lee Harris Brown will be Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem M.B. Church, 3055 N. Washington St., with the Rev. Dennis Redden officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

There will be a visitation hour from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 22, at the funeral home.

Evangelist Mattie Lee Harris Brown passed away on Sunday, June 17, at her home surrounded by family. She was 89.

She was retired from Westinghouse/Cooper Lighting and had also worked as a bus monitor for the Vicksburg Warren School District.

She was a member of the Bethlehem M.B. Church, where she was an active member in the choir, Sunday School, where she also served as superintendent, and was a member of the Mother’s Board.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Annie Mae Parker; her son, Albert R. Brown Sr.; her daughter, JoAnn Brown; her brother, Albert Parker; and sisters, Mary L. Reed, Marguerite Brantley, and Hattie Brown.

She is survived by her seven sons, Arthur W. Brown Jr. of Columbus, Ga., Robert J. Brown of Albion, Mich., Larry D. Brown Sr. of Lafayette, La., Willie D. Brown of Kenner, La., Michael W. Brown Sr., and Gregory L. Brown, both of Vicksburg, and Brian Brown of Albion, Mich.; her daughter, Brenda L. Brown of Vicksburg; 27 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
