Funeral services for George Edward Maniel will be Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Briscoe officiating. Internment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

George Edward Maniel passed away Thursday, June 14, at his daughter’s home surrounded by family.

He graduated from Rosa A. Temple High School in 1970. He served in the U.S. Army. He also worked at LeTourneau and was at Masonite Tank as a welder. He also worked at Goldie’s as a cook until his health failed.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Hearron Sr.; his brother, Eddie Lee Howard; and maternal grandparents, Richard Daniels and Josephine Brown.

He is survived by his daughter, Tiombe (DeWayne) Bell Sr. of Starkville; his mother, Dora Mae Howard and stepfather, Joseph Howard, both of Vicksburg; six sisters, Mary Ann Lewis of Utica, Joe Evelyn Howard, Barbara Rae Howard and Lee Dora Howard, all of Vicksburg, Jerridine Howard of Jackson, and Gloria Jean Holmes of Lincoln, Neb.; two brothers, Anthony Jay Howard and Billy Ray Howard, both of Vicksburg; and two grandchildren.
