Teens arrested for attempted break-in of 601 Sports

Vicksburg police have arrested two teenagers on charges of attempted burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary in the attempted break-in of 601 Sports, 3500 Pemberton Square Blvd. early Thursday morning, Vicksburg Police Sgt. Johnnie Edwards said.

Kalani Lashon Hall, 19, 2212 Grove St., and a 17-year-old juvenile are accused of trying to break into the store. Hall was being held in the Warren Count Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond. The juvenile was referred to the Warren County Youth Detention Facility.

According to police reports, the incident occurred about 2:25 a.m. Thursday when the teens attempted to enter the store by breaking a window and was scared off when the store’s alarm system was activated.

Edwards said the case remains under investigation.

In other cases:

Keandre Harris, 17, 108 Foy Circle, was arrested on a charge of burglary in the May 28 burglary of a storage shed on Fisher Ferry Road. He was being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.

• Tony Sentel Waters, 27, 3120 South Frontage Road Apt. 27, was arrested on a circuit court warrant charging him with a drug court violation.

• A 2001 Honda Odyssey reported stolen June 19 was recovered Thursday on Little Creek Drive.

• A man attempted to pass a forged check for $1,911 about 4:54 p.m. Thursday at Trustmark Bank. No arrest has been made.

• A zero turn radius lawnmower and trailer reported stolen June 17 was recovered Thursday on Spouts Spring Road.

• Shots were reported fired about 8:53 p.m. Thursday at the New Main Apartments, 2727 Alcorn Drive.

• Shots were reported fired about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Rigsby and Oak streets.

• $100 were reported taken about 4:29 a.m. Tuesday from Auto Plus, 1601 Clay St.

Vicksburg police made the following arrests Friday through Thursday:

• Vanessa Jean Lyons, 125 Drake Road, was arrested about 2:59 p.m. Thursday at Clay and Hays streets, on four counts of contempt of court. She was also served with multiple warrants.

• Jonathan Scott Ashley, 45, 2255 Old Port Gibson Road, Unitca, was arrested abot 3:25 p.m. Thursday at Halls Ferry and Fisher Ferry roads on charges of no proof of insurance and driving with a suspended license.

• Cierre Price, 23, 310 Skyview Court, was arrested about 7:43 p.m. Thursday on a charge of contempt of court.

• Terry Wayne Whatley, 32, 200 Redwood Road, Redwood, was arrested Wednesday about 7:44 a.m. in the 1000 block of Grove St., was arrested on two counts of contempt of court.

• Veronica Rachelle Dillon, 41, 2109 Martin Luther King Blvd., was arrested Wednesday about 11:09 a.m. at the Vicksburg Police Department on a charge of contempt of court.

• Cheryl Nicole Sanchez, 37, 9120 Bowling Green, Turant, was arrested Wednesday in the 2100 block of U.S. 61 North, on charges of having an expired tag and having a suspended driver’s license. She was also served with a warrant.

• Shantavia Deneesia Nicole Lewis, 18, 3323 Common Circle No. 3, was arrested Tuesday about 9:18 a.m. at the police department.

• Eddie Deon Sanders, no age or address listed, was arrested Tuesday about 10:55 a.m. at the police department on a charge of domestic assault.

• Warrants were issued Tuesday on Jameesha Rashone Jones, 23, 1319 China St.

• Christopher Cody Thornton, 1601 Mississippi St., Tallulah, Louisiana, was arrested about 9:04 p.m. in the 2100 block of Iowa Boulevard on a charge of first offense shoplifting.

• Brandy Nicole Ailes, 39, 1103 Grove St. No. 5, was arrested about 11:10 p.m. Saturday in the 2500 block of Halls Ferry Road on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and contempt of court.

• Lashondra Shanika Johnson, 28, 219 Clifton St., Lexington, was arrested about 9:25 a.m. Saturday at the police department on two counts of child neglect.

• A warrant was served Saturday on Joshua Forrest Boyd, 20, 3365 U.S. 61 South.

• Mary Louise Smith, 51, 219 Clifton St., Lexington, was arrested about 6:27 a.m. Saturday in the 4100 block of Washington Street on a charge of trespassing.

•Terrance Lavell Dart, 36, 107 Signal Hill Drive, was arrested about 3:41 a.m. Saturday on I-20 Frontage Road on a charge of contempt of court.

• A warrant was served Saturday on Jermaine Tyrone Williams, 33, 720 Thomas St.

• A warrant was served Friday on Ashley Wayne Williams, 43, 50 Ashley Road.

• A warrant was served Friday on Angela Jones Lindsey, 51, 211 Boyd St., Ridgeland, at the police department.

• Buffie DeShannon Findley, 44, 604 Ingalls Ave., Pascagoula, was arrested Friday about 1:05 p.m. at the police department on a charge of contempt of court.

• Michael Wayne, Kerns, 46 Nebula Drive, was arrested Friday about 10:04 a.m. in the 2000 block of Clay Street in charges of driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance.

• Krystal White, 33, 147 North Point, Yazoo City, was arrested Friday about 8:23 a.m. in the 400 block of Pascagoula St. on a charge of uttering forgery involving a check.
