Doris Combs-Hill passed away peacefully with her son, Christopher, at her bedside and family support at Southern California Hospital May 28, 2018. She was 74.

Doris Hill was born in Vicksburg to Peter and Annette Wright Combs.

With her infectious smile, she learned the value of hard work and education. She attended Rosa A Temple High School Class of 1962 and she attended California State University, Dominquez Hills. She was employed by the Los Angeles Board of Education as an accounting manager.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Laura Neal Combs; niece, Heidi Hill Rubin; and siblings, Virgin Combs and Kenneth Combs.

Doris leaves to cherish her memory her son, Christopher Hill; stepchildren, Chara, Claude, Gregory and Charles Hill Jr.; her sisters, Renette Anderson and Mary Ruth Hill; great niece, Danielle Rubin; and the Rev. Peter Shelley of Chicago, Ill., Hattie Dunn, and Eddielean Griffin of Vicksburg, close friend, Carl Morant of N.Y., and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; and others.

Services were held at Transformation Catholic Church in Los Angeles, Calif. on June 14, 2018.
