Funeral services for Alberta Archer Lyons are to be held on Saturday, July 14, in Trinity Temple Baptist Church, 1063 Meadow St., at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Jones, Jr. officiating; interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home. 

Alberta Archer Lyons passed away on Monday, July 9, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center following a brief illness. She was 70. She was a homemaker and member of Trinity Temple Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Maggie Lee Hunter Archer; and a son Cedric Andre Archer.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years. L. J. Lyons, Sr. of Vicksburg; her three sons, James C. Archer, L. J. Lyons, Jr. and Reginald T. Lyons, all  of Vicksburg; her sisters, Margaret Hunter of Seaside, California, and Patricia McCoy of Vicksburg; and 11 grandchildren.
