Louise Terry Hudson

Louise Terry Hudson died July 12, 2018. She was born in Cookeville, Tenn., on Sept. 23, 1916.

Mrs. Hudson received a B.S. degree from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville in 1939 and married Robert Y. Hudson Sr., July 27, 1940.

Upon moving to Vicksburg she joined Crawford Street United Methodist Church in 1941 and immediately became active in the United Methodist Women.

She taught Sunday school for 22 years and worked with Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Hudson was an active member of the PTA when her two sons were in school and worked with the Red Cross for many years.

Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her parents, Dee and Kate Terry; her husband, Robert Y. Hudson Sr.; a brother, Chancy Terry of Nashville, Tenn.; and a sister, Hazel Terry Fitzpatrick of Cookeville, Tenn.

Survivors include her two sons, Robert Y. Hudson, Jr. (Evonne) and Carl Terry Hudson (Cherry); six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two nieces.

The Hudson Family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to her church family for the many cards, phone calls, and visits over the years. They would also like to thank her faithful caregiver Roberta Currie.

Graveside services will be Monday, July 16, 2018, at 3 o’clock in Greenlawn Gardens with the Rev. Tom Atkins, pastor of Crawford Street United Methodist Church, officiating.

Visitation will be at Fisher Funeral Home from 1 p.m. Monday until the service. Memorials may be made to Crawford Street United Methodist Church, 900 Crawford Street, Vicksburg MS 39180.

Pallbearers will be Robert Y. Hudson III, Michael Hudson, Braxton Chewning, Glenn Pickering, Bobby Fleming, and George Hunt.
