To the editor:

A huge thank you to the citizens of Vicksburg and Warren County, Mississippi

Three years ago, a small number of business people came together to say we need to expound on the fact we are a historical city. We need to preserve our architecture, cultures, music, documented stories, and do so by preserving historical properties. This includes the two schools which are located within the historic districts.

Bylaws were written, a board was formed and now we are in the third year of being a 501(c)(3) organization. We are a guild, which only means we are a working group of people, not a social organization.

The third year was celebrated with a meeting at the Vicksburg Auditorium on the 10th of July.  We hosted approximately 100 guests and told our story of accomplishments one more time.

This will serve as a major thank you to the Mayor and Alderman, City of Vicksburg, Vicksburg Convention Center, Arlis and Monica of the City Auditorium, The staff of Walnut Hills, Willie Walker, Outside the Box, and our speaker Mrs. Jessica Crawford of Marks, Mississippi.

As a committed group we will continue to work to make us the historic destination that WE can be.  Thank you, Vicksburg and Warren County.
