Jezelle Headley

Jezelle Headley passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018. She was 63 years old.

Jazelle was a native of Waterproof, Louisiana. She attended Louisiana Tech and graduated from Alcorn State University Nursing School. She worked in her husband’s medical office and Claiborne County Medical Center. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Port Gibson.

Jezelle loved her family and especially loved her grandchildren, Barton, Jr., and Abigail McIntosh.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. David M. Headley of Port Gibson; her three sons, Barton McIntosh of Clayton, Louisiana, David Hunt Headley of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Shelton Headley of Port Gibson; her three brothers, Mallory Lancaster of Clayton, Louisiana, Steve Lancaster of Clayton, Louisiana, and James Lancaster of Natchez; her three sisters Jeanine Herrington of Clayton, Louisiana, Jessica White of Metairie, Louisiana, and Jennifer Crosby of Mandeville, Louisiana; and her two grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Mott Headley Jr. Home on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at 1 p.m. with the burial to follow at Headley Cemetery at 3 pm. Rev. Michael Herrin will be officiating the service.

Pallbearers will be Mott Roland Headley, Patrick Crosby, Brendan Beesley, Luke Burnett, Cean Johnson, Joc Carpenter and Robert Gaye IV.

Memorials are to be made to First Presbyterian Church, 605 Church St, Port Gibson, MS., or Batson Children’s Hospital, 2500 North State St. Jackson, MS.
