Red Carpet Bowl tickets

Tickets for the 2018 Red Carpet Bowl will go on sale Monday at Michel’s Music Downtown, River Outfitters, Riverbelles and 601 Sports. Tickets will go on sale at the Vicksburg Warren School District athletic office and local schools on Aug. 8.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the gate, and are good for both games of the annual football doubleheader. This year’s Red Carpet Bowl will be played Aug. 17 at Vicksburg High’s Memorial Stadium. Warren Central faces Oxford in the opener at 5:30 p.m., and Vicksburg plays Clarksdale at 8.

Fall baseball registration

Registration for the City of Vicksburg’s fall youth baseball league will begin on Aug. 1 and continue through Sept. 12 at the Parks and Recreation office on Army Navy Drive. The league is for children ages 5-12, and the registration fee is $25 per child. For more information, call Joseph Graves at 601-634-4514.

Adult softball registration

Registration for the City of Vicksburg’s adult co-ed fall softball league will begin on Aug. 1 and continue through Sept. 13 at the Parks and Recreation office on Army Navy Drive. The league is for men and women, and the registration fee is $175 per team plus an additional $10 for each Warren County resident and $20 for residents of Sharkey, Issaquena and Claiborne counties.

There will be a mandatory coaches meeting on Sept. 5 at the Parks and Recreation office.

Flag football registration

Registration for the Vicksburg Warren Flag Football League’s 2018 season is now open and will continue until Aug. 25. The season will begin Sept. 1. Other registration periods will be held Aug. 18 and 25 at the Vicksburg Junior High football field, from 5-6 p.m. For more information, call James Judge at 601-415-4500.

VSO soccer registration

Registration for the Vicksburg Soccer Organization’s fall season will continue until Aug. 19. The league is for children ages 4-16, and the season runs from early September through late October.

Registration fees are $60 per child in the U4 and U6 age divisions; $80 for the U8 division; $85 for U10; and $90 for U12 and above. There is also a $33 fee for uniforms. A $5 discount for early registration before July 27 is available, as well as a 20 percent discount if registering for both the fall and spring 2019 seasons.

Summer tennis program

The City of Vicksburg’s summer youth tennis program will continue through the end of July at Halls Ferry Park. The camp is free, and for players of all skill levels from ages 7-18. Sessions will run from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday, with a second junior team tennis session from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
