Argument in car leads to aggravated domestic assault charge

A Vicksburg man has been charged with aggravated domestic assault involving an argument with his girlfriend.

Vicksburg police Lt. Johnnie Edwards said Rondell Freeman was also charged with first-offense DUI and reckless driving in the case. He was released on $25,000 bond, Warren County Jail records show.

According to police reports, Freeman and his girlfriend, who was not identified, were traveling in his car Friday when they got into an argument and the girlfriend asked to be let out of the car. As the woman was getting out of the car in the 900 block of China Street, Freeman hit the accelerator and tried to leave, causing the woman to fall and suffer scrapes to her back and head.

She was taken to Merit Health River Region for treatment of her injuries. Information on her condition was unavailable.

In other cases:

• Victoria Michelle Tilley, 34, 4813 Nailor Road, was arrested Saturday on a warrant from the Louisiana Department of Corrections for possession of methamphetamine.

According to police, officers called about 4:08 a.m. Saturday about a suspicious vehicle a the Circle K at Halls Ferry Road and Pemberton Square Boulevard arrived to find Tilley and Holly Reneeann Hart, 1163 Standard Hill Road, in the car. A records check revealed the Louisiana warrant, and a search of the car after Tilley’s arrest uncovered 0.04 ounces of methamphetamine in the car.

Tilley and Hart were both charged with possession of methamphetamine, and Municipal Judge Toni Terrett set bonds of $25,000 each on both women. They are being held in the Warren County Jail, where Tilley is awaiting transfer to Louisiana.

• Kenny Dewayne Hall, 35, 1517 South St., was arrested Saturday by the Vicksburg police NET Team on a warrant charging him with sale of marijuana resulting from an undercover drug purchase.

He was being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bond.
