Flaggs announced the Aug. 1 session at the July 17 meeting of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen. At the time, he said he was calling the public meeting at the request of several residents.

“They wanted me to be available to take any questions they’ve got; not just about crime, they just want an update on the city,” he said.

Flaggs has held several public meetings in the past including some during his first term to discuss various topics involving the city.

So far in 2018, he has held meetings on crime in the city and to explain the reason the board was raising water and sewer user fees.
