Cars parked at casino broken into

Vicksburg police are looking for three people involving a series of early morning auto burglaries Sunday at the Ameristar Casino, 4116 Washington St.

The break-ins occurred between 3 and 5 a.m. Sunday, Lt. Johnnie Edwards said. He said the three were seen on casino surveillance video checking the doors of cars in the parking lot. Two cars were ransacked but nothing was reported missing, he said.

Items were taken from two cars:

• A Pioneer radio and Bluetooth were reported taken about 4:48 a.m. from a 2005 Chevrolet Impala.

• Three caps and a Canon camera were reported taken about 4:48 a.m. Sunday from a 2007 Honda CRV.

A 1994 GMC 1500 pickup parked at Ameristar was reported entered and ransacked about 9:41 a.m. Friday, according to police reports.

In other cases:

• A pair of size 8 1/2 Nike Huarache shoes, size 9 1/2 Nike Air Max shoes, $1,000, a gold Fossil watch valued at $180, a silver Fossil watch valued at $180, jewelry box, white gold wedding ring valued at $499, and a Michael Kors wallet valued at $100, a Mutual Credit Union Bank card, Victoria’ Secret credit card, Belk credit card and $500 in clothing were reported taken about 9:40 a.m. Monday from a home in the 700 block of Bridge Street.

In other cases:

• $300 and .38-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver were reported taken about 8:39 a.m. Monday from a car parked in the 1200 block of Mulvhill Street.

  Two mixed breed puppies, one white and the other black and brown, were reported taken about 2:53 p.m. from a home in the 1500 block of Military Avenue.

• A 40-inch Vizio TV valued at $475 was reported taken about 5:25 a.m. Sunday from a home in the 400 block of Lakehill Drive.

Two Stihl trimmers valued at $340 each and a Stihl pole saw, valued at $450 were reported taken about 8:25 a.m. Sunday from a storage shed on the campus of the AmeriCorps training center, 2715 Confederate Avenue.

• Baby wipes were reported taken about 3:53 a.m. Sunday from a 2018 Nissan parked in the 2200 block of Cherry Street.

• Shots were reported fired about 11:39 p.m. Sunday in the 4000 block of South Frontage Road.

• Shots were reported fired about 10:17 p.m. Sunday at the New Main Apartments, 2727 Alcorn Drive.

• Shots were reported fired about 12:40 a.m. Sunday in the 2200 block of Cherry Street.

• Shots were reported fired about 6:23 a.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of Court Street.

  2007 Ford F-150 was reported taken about 8:38 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Signal Hill.

• A Glock 17 .40-caliber handgun was reported taken about 3:28 p.m. in the 100 block of Sky View Avenue.

• A black Glock 19 9mm handgun and a black AR 15 were reported taken about 11:56 a.m. Friday from a home in the 300 block of North Ridge Drive.

• A generator valued at $500, a deep fryer and a set of steak knives were reported taken about 1:57 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of Meadowbrook Drive.

• A 1988 Ford F-150 was reported taken about 10:12 a.m. Friday in the 1000 block of Polk Street.

• An Echo chainsaw valued at $350 was reported taken from a storage shed at Cedar Grove, 2200 Oak St.
