A Vicksburg man remains in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bond charged with statutory rape.

Vicksburg police Lt. Johnnie Edwards said Roderick Wayne Williams Jr., 28, 902 Blossom Lane, is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl Thursday. He said a hold has been placed on Williams by the Warren County District Attorney’s office because he was out on bond for a drug charge at the time of the reported assault.

She was taken to Merit Health River Region Medical Center for treatment.

Williams was arrested and charged with statutory rape about 1 a.m. Friday after he turned himself in to police at the Vicksburg Police Department.
