Two Warren County residents are charged with aggravated assault following an incident in which five shots were fired into a Toyota pickup on Bovina Cutoff Road, Sheriff Martin Pace said.
Amanda Nowell, 29, 960 Grange Hall Road, and Judah Gutierrez, 19, 231 Watkins Lane, are each charged with two counts of aggravated assault. Both turned themselves into authorities at the sheriff’s office. Their charges will be forwarded to the next grand jury.
Nowell is also charged with accessory before the fact of shooting into an occupied vehicle. She was released on $15,000 bond.
Gutierrez is also charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle. He remains in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond.
The arrests are the result of an investigation into an incident that occurred July 29 and resulted from a fight at a July 28 party on Bovina Cutoff Road.
According to sheriff’s department reports, Nowell and Gutierrez, who had been at the party and were leaving, passed the pickup, which contained two teenagers. Thinking the truck contained people who had been in the fight, Nowell turned her car around and caught up with the truck, and Gutierrez fired five shots at the pickup.
The two teens were not injured. The case remains under investigation.
