Red Carpet Bowl tickets

Tickets for the 2018 Red Carpet Bowl are now on sale at Michel’s Music Downtown, River Outfitters/ River Belles and 601 Sports. Tickets will go on sale at the Vicksburg Warren School District athletic office and local schools on Aug. 8.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the gate, and are good for both games of the annual football doubleheader. This year’s Red Carpet Bowl will be played Aug. 17 at Vicksburg High’s Memorial Stadium. Warren Central faces Oxford in the opener at 5:30 p.m., and Vicksburg plays Clarksdale at 8.

Clear Creek Ladies golf

On Wednesday the Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association hosted its August Retirees Scramble. The team of Wayne Jones, Mike Renfroe, Davey Simmons and Bud White took top honors. The second place team included Dinah Lazor, Keith Gordon, Chris Miller and John Nelson. Third place went to Judy McKnight, Del Cox, Frank Conner and Butch Henley.

Closest-to-pin awards went to Joyce Johnson, Dinah Lazor, Wayne Jones and Eddie Roberson. Dinah Lazor and Mike Renfroe hit the longest drives. Dinah Lazor, Pete Johnson and Chris Miller made chip-ins.

Fall baseball registration

Registration for the City of Vicksburg’s fall youth baseball league will continue through Sept. 12 at the Parks and Recreation office on Army Navy Drive. The league is for children ages 5-12, and the registration fee is $25 per child.

Adult softball registration

Registration for the City of Vicksburg’s adult co-ed fall softball league will continue through Sept. 13 at the Parks and Recreation office on Army Navy Drive. The registration fee is $175 per team plus an additional $10 for each Warren County resident and $20 for residents of Sharkey, Issaquena and Claiborne counties.

Flag football registration

Registration for the Vicksburg Warren Flag Football League’s 2018 season will continue until Aug. 25. The season begins Sept. 1. Other registration periods will be held Aug. 18 and 25 at the Vicksburg Junior High football field, from 5-6 p.m.

VSO soccer registration

Registration for the Vicksburg Soccer Organization’s fall season will continue until Aug. 19. The league is for children ages 4-16, and the season runs from early September through late October.

Registration fees are $60 per child in the U4 and U6 age divisions; $80 for the U8 division; $85 for U10; and $90 for U12 and above. There is also a $33 fee for uniforms. There is a 20 percent discount if registering for both the fall and spring 2019 seasons.
