Hatten is accused of taking a 2007 Lincoln MLT pickup from the Lady Luck Casino parking lot about 2:55 a.m. Sunday. He later collided with a 2000 Silver Buick Regal containing Jared Develle Brinner, 30, 2501 Culkin Road, and Ron Lydell Hedrick, 32, 102 McGraw St., Pattison, in the 300 block of Warrenton Road near USA Pawn.

The impact caused the car to burst into flames. Both men were declared dead at the scene by Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey.

Edwards said police have asked the help of accident reconstructionists from the Mississippi Highway Patrol to reconstruct the wreck.

In other cases:

• Shots were reported fired about 11:41 p.m. at the Dixiana Motel, 4041 Washington St.

• $20 was reported taken about 10:37 a.m. Monday from a 1998 Ford Explorer parked in the 1500 block of Grove St.
