Robert Thomas Metzenberg

Robert Thomas Metzenberg, age 63, passed away peacefully in Ocean Springs, on July 23, 2018.

A native of Miles City, Montana, he was born on May 19, 1955, to Benjamin and Margaret (Kenney) Metzenberg. He was a multi-talented athlete in junior high and high school who excelled in wrestling and won local and state championships.

Robert graduated from Custer County District High School in Miles City, Montana, in 1974.

Robert enjoyed building things and working with his hands; he enjoyed construction projects, hunting, fishing, being in nature and spending time with his loved ones.

He was an accomplished Millwright and Carpenter since 1977. He worked at Grand Gulf in Port Gibson, for over 10 years and was a foreman to many construction crews over the years. A proud member of Carpenters Local 1964, he retired in 2008.

Rob is preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Metzenberg; one brother Mark E. Metzenberg; and his wives, Jeanne Lynch Metzenberg and Parsha Henley Metzenberg.

He is survived by his children, Jamie N. Metzenberg of Dallas, Texas, Amanda M. Jones (Lloyd) of Ocean Springs, and his son, Robert B. Metzenberg of Vicksburg; his mother, Margaret Metzenberg of Miles City, Montana; mother-in-law, Helen Henley of Vicksburg; his siblings, Linda Wahl (Ed) of Bonney Lake, Washington and Scott Metzenberg (Erika) of Seattle, Washington; one grandson, Lloyd Jones Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews who always held a special place in their Uncle Rob’s heart. 

A memorial service will be held on Aug. 17, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Crossway Church, 1825 US-61 in Vicksburg.

Robert’s family invites anyone that would like to share their love and memories to attend. They would also like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and condolences they’ve received.  He was a special man who is loved and will always be missed by many.
