Sports complex dilemma

To the editor:
In a recnet meeting, people had raised concerns about the access situation for the sports complex and the mayor replied the 61 South entry was being put on hold for “opposition from Dana road residents.”
Does that sound like a valid enough reason to opt out of logical solution and adopt a potentially hazardous option of creating future traffic congestion?
There is no way traffic on Dana Road can match or exceed traffic volumes on Halls Ferry Road, which is already a driving nightmare. The number of houses on Halls Ferry would be 10 times more than on Dana Road. Does the voice of Dana Road residents carry more weightage than Hall Ferry residents? Or do we need to form an association of Halls Ferry Road inhabitants, who probably need to protest strongly?
Seems like traffic studies have been misinterpreted to allow access to the complex from a 20-foot undivided road. We need to look into this with a magnifying glass so that a new project may not turn into city’s failure.
