Local education and industry leaders are improving schools and creating jobs

Students in the Vicksburg Warren School District continue to make significant gains in critical areas of learning, according to the latest Mississippi Department of Education statewide assessment tests released this week.

It’s good news for several reasons. First, it proves the innovative ideas are working within the school district, but an education system that is progressive and improving is critical in attracting new industry to our community.

An announcement in those efforts to attract new industry to Warren County is expected on Friday when Gov. Phil Bryant makes a return trip to Vicksburg.
