Funeral services for Charles Clayton Canda, Sr. are to be held on Saturday, Aug. 25, in the House of Peace Worship Church at 12 p.m. with the Rev. Constance Braxton officiating; interment shall follow under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. 

Charles Clayton Canda, Sr. passed away on Monday, Aug. 13, in Merit Health Madison Hospital following a sudden illness. He was 61. 

He was retired from Vicksburg Redi Mix Concrete Plant and was a member of the Greater Mount Olive M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Canda, and his son, Jasper Hamlin.

He is survived by his wife, Leanie Canda of Vicksburg; his two sons, Charles Clayton Canda, Jr. and Timothy Hamlin, both of Vicksburg; his daughter, Stacy Hicks, also of Vicksburg; his two sisters, Willie Mae Johnson of Vicksburg, and Jeanette Canda of Detroit, Michigan; 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
