Embry powers PCA to three victories

Hannah Embry was on point Saturday, and Porter’s Chapel Academy’s softball team was in the win column.
Embry threw a no-hitter, a one-hitter and a two-hitter as the Lady Eagles won three games in the Bayou Academy tournament.

Embry walked four, but struck out 10 in five innings while throwing the no-hitter in a 3-0 win over Canton Academy. She also went 2-for-2 at the plate, with two RBIs, to help her cause.

Hannah Ashley also had two hits for the Lady Eagles, and Meagan Little scored two runs.

In the second game, against tournament host Bayou Academy, Embry allowed one hit and one unearned run in four innings as PCA won 3-1. She struck out seven and didn’t walk a batter. At the plate, she hit an RBI triple and drove in another run with a ground out.

In the final game of the day, Embry allowed two hits and one run, and struck out nine in a 2-1 victory over Lee Academy. Embry also hit a triple and scored the winning run on Kaylee Hinson’s RBI single in the bottom of the fourth inning.

PCA (11-4) has won six consecutive games, and nine of its last 10. It will host Riverfield Monday at 6:15 p.m.
