Joseph “Joe” Jefferson Jr., a Vicksburg resident, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 29, in the Shady Lawn Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. He was 88. 

He was retired from the Vicksburg Warren School System having worked in the athletic department. He was a member of Triumphant M. B. Church.
