Marilyn Cox Jones, 64, passed away in her home with family on Aug. 30, 2018.

She was the daughter of L.C., Jr. and Betty Cox. Marilyn graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a B.S. in Home Economics and she taught at Vicksburg Junior High School for 35 years. She was married to her beloved husband, Ronnie Jones, for 42 years and was a member of Crossway Church.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, L.C. and Betty Cox and a brother, Michael Cox. She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Jones; and her children, Brian Jones (Tara) of Gonzales, Louisiana, and Amie Burroughs (Wes) of Vicksburg, along with grandchildren, Declan Jones, Corbin Burroughs and Davis Burroughs.

She is also survived by her siblings, Murray Cox (Sylvia) of Shelimar, Florida, Mildred Cox of Dallas, Texas, and Martha Elzen of Brentwood, Tennessee, and many nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ethan Elzen, Frank Nettles, Larry Burroughs, Steve Sullivan, Jerry Rushing, Mark Rowlen and Pat Ellington.

Visitation will be at Crossway Church from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4 and a memorial service immediately following.
