PCA softball beats Central Hinds

RAYMOND — Hannah Embry allowed one run and struck out eight in a complete game victory, and Porter’s Chapel Academy’s softball team beat Central Hinds 5-1 on Tuesday for its 10th win in 11 games.

PCA (16-5, 6-1 District 3-AAA) scored all of its runs in the first two innings by taking advantage of two errors, a passed ball, and three walks. Carlyle Smith went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, and Meghan Hinson and Anna Grace White each drove in a run.

Embry scattered four hits and walked four in seven innings.

PCA has now won four consecutive games. It will return to action Monday with a District 3-AAA game against Park Place Christian, at the Betty Hearn Softball Complex.
