Deputies seek person who stole, wrecked vehicle

Warren County Sheriff’s deputies are seeking information about an early morning one-car wreck on Mount Alban Road.

Sheriff Martin Pace said deputies were called to the wreck about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday and found where a 2005 Nissan Xterra had left the road and struck some trees.

No one was in the car or at the scene of the wreck.

Deputies contacted the owner, who said she was not aware the car had been missing, and after further investigation deputies believe someone may have been injured in the wreck and left the scene.

Anyone with information about the wreck, or who may have picked up someone on Mount Alban Road between 3:30 a.m. and dawn Tuesday who appeared to be injured and may have been barefoot should call the sheriff’s office at 601-636-1761, or Central Mississippi Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477) or 1-866-481-8477.

Meanwhile, the Vicksburg Police Department reported a TV and video games were taken from a home Friday in the 2900 block of Park Avenue.

In other cases:

• Assorted tools were taken Saturday from Cappaert Manufactured Homes, 6200 U.S. 61 North.

• A Buick Rendezvous was reported taken Sunday from Alcorn Drive. The owner told police he had left his home and when he returned the car was gone.
