Dorothy McCaleb Horn

Dorothy McCaleb Horn died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018. She was 99.

Mrs. Horn was born in Hermanville, to the late James Franklin McCaleb and Mattie Stegall McCaleb, a Claiborne County pioneer family. She was active in Christ Episcopal Church, where she had been a member since moving to Vicksburg in 1946. She was an employee of the State of Mississippi for 26 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Horn, Sr.; a sister, Katy McCaleb Headley; a brother, James F. McCaleb, III; and a grandson, Neil Chalon Webb.

Mrs. Horn is survived by her son, James G. Horn, Jr.; her daughters, Susan H. Webb (Thomas) and Marilyn H. Hayward (Sonny); her grandchildren, Joel Webb (Tracy), Ragan Hayward (Lauren) and Perry Anne Thimmes (Paul); her great-grandchildren, Gavin Webb, Hunter Webb, Lawson Webb, Wagner Thimmes, Hawkins Thimmes, Glenn Thimmes, Mary Louise Hayward and Parker Hayward.

Services were 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, at Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev. Sam Godfrey officiating. Interment was in Wintergreen Cemetery in Port Gibson. A family gathering followed.
