“We had a million shots and couldn’t get one to go in. We had a bunch of corner kicks and they were packing the box,” St. Al coach Jessie Tate said. “We had the offense and plenty of shots. We played well. I’m proud of them.”

St. Al (7-3-1, 5-1 District 3-AAA) won the district title — a loss would have created a three-way tie with Central Hinds and Park Place — and earned a home playoff game in the first round of the MAIS Class AAA playoffs.

The Lady Flashes’ first-round opponent has not yet been determined, but the game will be Tuesday at Balzli Field.
