Warren Central started its tune up round for the MHSAA volleyball playoffs by sweeping crosstown rival Vicksburg High on Tuesday.

The Lady Vikes served 26 aces — Elaina Bailey and Jayda Griffin had seven each — and easily defeated the Missy Gators 3-0 (25-10, 25-20, 25-10).

Maddie Watkins had seven kills, Aryn Greer added five, and Abby Claire Fuller finished with 10 assists.

Warren Central (14-11) will begin the Class III playoffs on Oct. 18 at Tupelo. It will play twice more in the regular season, Thursday at home against St. Andrew’s and on the road next Tuesday at Northwest Rankin.
