Vicksburg High wide receiver Cedric Phillips has gotten some regional recognition for his performance in last week’s game against Cleveland Central.

Phillips was named the Wendy’s Giant of the Week after totaling 154 yards and two touchdowns in the Gators’ 34-21 victory last Friday night. The award is presented as a partnership between Central Mississippi Wendy’s restaurants, the Friday Night Under the Lights web site, and Jackson television station WLBT.

One winner is selected each week of the high school football season, and their school’s booster club receives a $250 donation. The winners are also honored with a pep rally and plaque at their school.
