$250K bond for alleged shooter in parking lot

Bond has been set at $250,000 for a Vicksburg man charged with aggravated assault in the Sunday morning shooting of another man in the parking lot at Whataburger, 3402 Halls Ferry Road.

Vicksburg police Lt. Johnnie Edwards said Michael Anthony Lynn, 28, 1056 Jeff Davis Road, is accused of shooting John Wallace with a 9mm handgun when Wallace intervened in an argument between Lynn and a woman. Wallace was in stable condition at Merit Health River Region.

Lynn was being held at the Warren County Jail. Police have recovered the weapon.

According to police reports, the shooting occurred about 1:57 a.m. Sunday.

Lynn and the woman were arguing in the restaurant parking lot when Wallace tried to intervene and calm the situation. Lynn went to a vehicle, got a gun and shot Wallace in the arm with the bullet going through the arm and lodging in the body. He left the parking lot after the shooting.

Lynn turned himself in to Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace about 5:28 a.m. Sunday. Pace brought him to the Vicksburg Police Department and turned him over to Edwards.
