Funeral services for James Eddie Cook Sr., are to be held on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Levi Jones officiating; interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. 

James Eddie Cook Sr., passed away on Friday, Oct. 12, in his residence following a brief illness. He was 83.

He had worked for over 46 years in the City of Vicksburg Waste Water Treatment Plant. He was a member of the Worldwide Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Cook and Beatrice Jackson Jones, and his wife, JoAnn Cook.

He is survived by his two sons, James Eddie Cook Jr., of Vicksburg and Johnny Cook of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; his three daughters, Velma Jean Erves of Waxahachie, Texas, Ora Coo and Peggy Ann Cook, both of Vicksburg; a brother, Roosevelt James of Dolton, Illinois; 14 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
