A Vicksburg woman has been charged with strong-arm robbery after she reportedly assaulted a man staying at the Beechwood Inn, 4449 Clay St., and stole his wallet Sunday, Vicksburg police Lt. Johnnie Edwards said.

He said Bettye Jean Robertson, 46, 523 Hall Road is accused of taking the man’s wallet when he refused to give her any money. She is also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. She was being in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bond.

According to police reports, Robertson knocked on the door of the man’s room about 6:23 a.m. Sunday and asked if he wanted to do drugs. When the man told her “no,” a scuffle ensued and she took the wallet containing $300 and ran off. She was arrested less than an hour later.
