Tethel (Sanders) Bridge

Tethel Bridge, 87, was born on Sept. 27, 1931, to the late Fred and Louisia Sanders Sr. in Vicksburg. A Gary, Indiana, resident since 1951, she was salutatorian and graduate of Emerson Evening School and the School of Cosmetology. She was retired owner and operator of Tee’s Beauty Salon on West 11th Avenue and retiree of Gary US Steel, after 19 years.

Tethel Bridge dedicated her life as a baptized Jehovah’s Witness for approximately 50 years, until Oct. 23, 2018, where she fell asleep in the comforts of her home surrounded by family and her many friends.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted husband, Marshall Bridge; her sister, Elizabeth Sanders of Vicksburg; five children, Kemp (Bernetta) Jones of Gary, Indiana; David (Doreece) Bridge of Columbus, Ohio; Anthony (Brenda) Bridge of Huntersville, North Carolina; Brenda (Roderick) Johnson of Richardson, Texas and Darryl Lynn Bridge of Gary, Indiana; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; an adopted daughter, Sintha Persley and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2, at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home, 2102 Clay Street; interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
