VPD investigating bad check at jewelry store

A bad check for $1,765.50 was reported passed Tuesday at Carter’s Jewelers, 3412 Pemberton Square Blvd.

In other cases:

• A double-stack tool box on wheels containing tools and valued at $8,675 was reported taken Monday about 2:23 p.m. from a home in the 100 block of Grange Hall Road.

• A 9mm Taurus handgun was reported taken about 10:34 a.m. Monday from a truck parked at 1119 Levee St.

Vicksburg Police made the following misdemeanor arrests Tuesday:

• Jordan Leigh Parks, 28, 803 Stokes Road, Flora, was arrested about 12:45 a.m. at the city waterfront on charges of possession of a schedule IV controlled substance.

• William David Collins, 18, 205 Barnes Crossing, Tallulah, Louisiana, was arrested about 12:45 a.m. at the city waterfront on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Rosalind Wilson, 57, 1912 Sky Farm Ave., was arrested about 3:34 a.m. at the intersection of Mississippi 27 and East Clay Street on charges of contempt of court and giving false information to police.

• Micheal Dewayne Lyons, 35, 650 Heartwood Drive, was arrested about 11:37 a.m. at the Vicksburg Police Department on two counts of contempt of court.

• Renotha Monethi Wilson, 38, 2170 Tillman Chapel Road, Pattison, was arrested about noon at the police department on a charge of contempt of court.

• A warrant was served on Thomas Brent Penny, 39, 105 Impala Drive.

• Laurel Alison Nora McDaniel, 34, 900 Walnut St. was arrested about 2:39 p.m. at Drummond and Madison streets on a charge of contempt of court.

• Warrants were served on Menyatta Liptha Hicks, 25, 1430 Howard St.

• Michael Lamar Antwine, 48, 5210 U.S. 61 South, was arrested about 6:57 p.m. in the 5200 block of U.S. 61 South on two counts of contempt of court.

• Quvorris Markeith Harris, 26, 113 Hoxie Drive, was arrested at Orme Drive and Pemberton Square Boulevard on charges of second-offense DUI, obstructing streets, driving with a suspended license and having an open container of alcohol.

• Brittini Latrice Mitch O’Neal, 29, 140 Eastover Drive, was arrested about 9:16 p.m. in the 2100 block of Iowa Boulevard on a charge of shoplifting.

• A warrant was served on David Earl Fowler Jr., 405 Dogwood Lane.
