A Vicksburg man went missing early Saturday morning from a towboat docked in St. Joseph, La.

It is presumed he fell into the Mississippi River, but that has not been confirmed.

Timothy Hearn, a deckhand on the towboat owned by Riverside Construction of Vicksburg, was reported missing at about 3 a.m. Saturday.

U.S. Coast Guard workers along with sheriff deputies and officials with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife and Fisheries searched for Hearn. However, divers did not go into the water because of a dangerous current, an owner of the company, Lewis Miller Jr., told media outlets on Saturday.

According to his Facebook page, Hearn began his job at Riverside Construction on Oct. 27.
