Illma Tadlock Williams

Illma Tadlock Williams of Vicksburg passed away on Nov. 7, 2018.  She was 95 years old. She was born on May 22, 1923, in Homewood, Mississippi, to John Irvin Tadlock and Veronia Hannah Tadlock.

Mrs. Williams moved to Vicksburg after her marriage to Milton Williams in August 1948. She was a homemaker and a stay-at-home mom for a number of years and then worked in retail sales at Adele’s House of Fashion and the Bettye K Shop. Mrs. Williams loved her God, her family, and her friends. She enjoyed fishing, playing bridge, cooking, gardening, and pulling for Mississippi State. She was a very caring and generous person who always thought of others.

She was a member of Crawford Street United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Cliff Tadlock and John Allie Tadlock; her sisters, Alma Turner, Virnadia Brown, Virgie Miles, Ida Mae Holifield, Marie Richardson, and her twin sister, Wilma Bryant.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband of 70 years, Milton Lane Williams; her son,  Alan Lane Williams (Lilian);  her daughter,  Myra Williams Dean (Jerry); her grandsons,  Jordan Lane Dean and John Milton Dean (Jamie);  and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Frank J.  Fisher Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 9, beginning at 11:30 a.m., followed by a graveside service at 1 p.m. at  Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers are David Boolos, Cecil Bryant, Jordan Dean, John Dean, Bill Richardson and Jimmy Turner.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Heritage House Retirement Center for their loving care over the last several years.
