A Vicksburg man has been indicted on a charge of aggravated assault in the March shooting of another man.

Charles Lee “Lil Chuckie” Doss, 21, 104 Ash St., is accused in the indictment of shooting Eldrae Stewart, 34, 1207 A Jefferson St., March 22 during an argument over a cigarette. Stewart was taken to Merit Health River Region, where he was treated for his wound and released.

Stewart told police Doss pulled a gun during the argument and shot him once in the left leg. He said he ran from Jefferson Street to Mundy Street, where a relative drove him to the hospital. Stewart was listed in good condition then released.

In another case, Roderick Wayne Williams, 1418 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., was indicted on a charge of statutory rape of a victim age 14 or 15 involving an Aug. 2 incident. He is accused of forcing his way into a home and forcibly raping the victim.

• Kwasba Lamont Nichols, 38, 329 Shady Lane, fleeing or eluding a law enforcement officer.

• Riley James Hutto, 24, 735 Joyce Lane, possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.

• Christopher Quashaun Galloway Jr., 22, 110 Moonmist St., possession of a controlled substance – marijuana.

• Datron Lynnell McKay, 33, 200 Overlook Drive, possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine.

• Willie Donnell Jones, 51, 1224 Second North St., and Derrick Devon Thomas, 39, 805 Fourth North St., sale of a controlled substance – cocaine.

• Steven Lavell Nichols, 27, 112 Cedar Lane, obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.

• Ian Kennedy Vaughn, 38, 405 Queen Katherine Lane, Jackson, sale of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.

• Rachel Heltzel Rankin, 45, 603 Holly Ridge Drive, obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.

• Joshua Forest Boyd, 20, 3365 U.S. 61 South Lot 19, and Nicole Randle, 30, 6905 Fisher Ferry Road, burglary of a dwelling.

• Henry Earl Armstead Jr., 35, 2418 Halls Ferry Road, vehicle burglary.

• Laquetta Shonise Ruston, 43, 1269 West Minster Drive, High Point, North Carolina, possession of a stolen firearm.

• Erica Rena White, 16, 1245 Mount Alban Road Lot 8, grand larceny.

• Hunter Leigh Cryer, 16, 1245 Mount Alban Road Lot 8, receiving stolen property.
