Her professional career spanned five decades in various positions in accounting and business administration.

Bobbye married Donald Harris in 1967 and had two beautiful, energetic daughters; Mauri O’Hara and Marla Marie. She later married Jessie Davenport and her family grew to include four additional children, Debra, Florence, Margaret, and Bryan.

Bobbye is known for her generosity, kindness and acceptance of all types of people. Anyone who ever visited Bobbye and Jessie, would not go home empty handed. Giving someone a bag of freshly caught fish, turnip greens, a cake, money or even a car or truck was common practice for her.

Perhaps Bobbye’s greatest passion centered on her love for children with significant energy and resources placed on providing a meaningful education for them. Bobbye experienced the full spectrum of getting by on a shoestring budget to having the financial resources to provide life-changing gifts to family and friends alike.

Through it all, Bobbye held firmly to her faith in Christ and His providence.

Bobbye is survived by her husband, Jesse B. Davenport; daughters, Mauri Gore (Marc), Marla Sims (Marc), Debra Isaac (Tom), Florence Cuneo (Bryan), and Margaret Bateman (Blane); son, Bryan Davenport III; grandchildren, Richard, Austin, Aubrey, and Robbie; sisters Dolly (Wayne), Donna (Bubba), Susan (Floyd) and Dorothy (Larry); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at Riles Funeral Home in Vicksburg on Monday, Nov. 19, 2018.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m., with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m.

Graveside services will be at Greenlawn Gardens. Ron Burch will officiate the services.
