Grand Jury indicts multiple violent offenders

A Vicksburg man accused of stabbing another man during a fight in April has been indicted by a Warren County grand jury.

Charles Benard “Black Eye” Scott III, 39, 2532 Oak St., is accused of stabbing Desmond Jermaine Taylor, 27, during a fight at the Speedmart convenience store, 2320 Washington St., April 24. Taylor was stabbed twice, puncturing his lung. Scott turned himself in to police the next day.

In another case, Christopher Devon Jones, 25, 1218 Harrison St., was indicted on one count of shooting into a dwelling and two counts of possession of a weapon after felony conviction involving an incident in which he is accused of shooting in to his neighbor’s house.

According to police reports, Jones stood on the porch of his home and fired a shot that damaged the window of a house across the street.

Other indictments included:

• Christopher Lee Curtis, 26, 2002 Hannah Ave., statutory rape of a victim age 14 or 15. The indictment involves an incident that occurred in July 2017.

• Russell George Thomas, 39, 337 East 31st St. Tucson Arizona, DUI-aggravated. Thomas is accused of driving impaired and causing a wreck in which a woman was injured.

• David Chase Cook. 28, 110 Lee Circle, failure to register as a sex offender.

• Shataria Banks, 27, 5007-A Ward Road, Port Gibson, obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.

• Tyler De’Quan Mixon, 18, 207 Ridgeway, two counts sale of a controlled substance. Mixon was also indicted with Quinerion Aren Mixon, 20, 14 Rancho Road, and Tony D. Smoots, 19, 502 Farmer St., for receiving stolen property.

• Walter Freeman Jr., 43, 461 Gibson Road, sale of a controlled substance.

• Sytoria Wash, 41, 603 Wicker St., Forest, possession of a controlled substance.

•Anthony E. Collins, 32, 51 Mimose St., Cary, possession of a controlled substance.

• Herman Lee Williams, 40, 2209 Pearl St., two counts possession of a controlled substance.

• Conti Lashun Tillis, 26, 160 Lightcap Blvd., possession of a controlled substance.

• Phillip Lewis Moore, 34, 1513 First North St., sale of a controlled substance.

• Shannon Dale Bramlett, 29, 111 Clay St., grand larceny.

• Nathan W. Rowell, 18, 100 Stafford Drive, Delta, Louisiana, and Justin C. Tilley, 17, 100 Stafford Drive, Delta, seven counts of auto burglary. Rowell and Tilley were also indicted with David M. Emerson, 27, 351 Bayou Blvd. on three counts of larceny-motor vehicle in the theft of three cars.

• Tina Marie Alcorn, 48, 401 Farmer St., non-residential burglary.

• Justin White, 32, 317 Goodrum Road, and Brian Keith Williamson, 24, 305 Bazinsky Road, two counts of credit card fraud.
