Edwards man facing drug, other charges

An Edwards man faces drug charges after his arrest during a traffic stop Monday on South Frontage Road near the Outlets at Vicksburg.
Vicksburg police Lt. Johnnie Edwards said Alton Rex Miller, 53, 3525 Cook Road, Edwards, faces a charge of possession of methamphetamine after the drug was found in his car during the traffic stop. He is also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, having a switched car tag, no insurance and contempt of court.
In other cases:
•A display with four Apple iPhone 8 plus phones valued at $4,690 were reported taken about 11:26 a.m. Sunday from Verizon Wireless, 2310 Iowa Blvd. Entry was gained by breaking the glass on the door.
• A 55-inch LG TV valued at $1,269 was reported taken about 12:37 p.m. Friday from a home in the 100 block of Capri Drive.
• A Motorola hand-held radio valued at $400 and assorted drinks and chips were reported taken Friday from Anderson-Tully, 1725 North Washington St.
• A U-Haul trailer containing tools and construction items valued at $10,000 was reported taken about 4:33 p.m. from Fresenius Clinics, 105 Key Circle.
• Shots were reported fired about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of First North Street.
Police made the following misdemeanor arrests Monday:
• Kelsey Elizabeth Lewis-Taylor, 29, 1007 Polk St., was arrested about 2:02 p.m. at the Vicksburg Police Department on a charge of contempt of court.
• Tony Barrow Hynum, 28, 2250 U.S. 80, was arrested about 2:10 p.m. at the police department on a charge of no proof of insurance, leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and failure to stop.
• Moriah Isreal Gunn, 25, 320 Fisher Ferry Road, was arrested about 6:51 p.m. in the 2100 block of Iowa Boulevard on a charge of contempt of court.
