PCA girls split two heading into break

The Porter’s Chapel Academy Lady Eagles headed into the Christmas break with back-to-back games, and wound up going 1-for-2.

Aidan Collins scored eight of her 14 points in the fourth quarter, and Tallulah Academy beat PCA 46-32 on Thursday. Morgan McCormick added 10 points for the Lady Trojans and Faith Kivett scored seven.

PCA shot just 10-for-35 (28.6 percent) overall from the field, and 2-for-11 from 3-point range. Fayth McDaniel led the Lady Eagles with 10 points, while Brittnee Martin had seven points and six rebounds.

Anna Grace White had four points and eight rebounds for PCA, and Madison Wilkerson grabbed seven boards.
The Lady Eagles fared better in the second half of their homestand, pulling away in the fourth quarter to beat Sharkey-Issaquena Academy 50-34.

PCA led by five points entering the fourth quarter, then outscored the Confederates 18-7 the rest of the way. Martin led PCA with 15 points, Kaylee Hinson had 12 and McDaniel scored seven.

Talor Ewing led SIA with nine points and Carrington Ross scored seven.

PCA will play in the Amite Christmas Tournament Dec. 27-29 in Liberty.
