Funeral services for Burrell Turner are to be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, in the Chapel of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Briscoe officiating; interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home. There will be a visitation held on Friday, Jan. 4, in the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m.
Burrell Turner passed away on Thursday, Dec. 27, in the Vicksburg Convalescent Home following a lengthy illness. He was 85. He was a retired welder and had served in the U S Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rosie Wilson Turner; his son, Anthony Turner; his brothers, Edmond Turner, Calvin Turner, Jerome Turner and William Turner; his sister, Dorothy Turner Smith; and one grandchild.
He is survived by his three daughters, Annette Pace of Westland, Michigan, Phyliss Stephens of Detroit, Michigan, and Wendy Burns of Hawaii; his brothers, John Henry Turner of Chicago, and Charles Turner of Jackson; a sister, Hattie Liggans of Vicksburg, and three grandchildren.
