VPD seeking info on teen shot Monday

Vicksburg police are seeking information about the reported New Year’s Eve shooting of a 17 year-old-boy who was found in the 2800 block of Ken Karyl Avenue.

Lt. Johnnie Edwards said officers responding to the call found the boy lying on the playground on Ken Karyl shot in the back. The teen, who was not identified, was taken to University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he was in fair condition.

In other cases:

• Ronald Emmett Coleman, 62, 2601 Maddox St., Monroe, Louisiana, was charged with possession of methamphetamine following an arrest Tuesday in the 4100 block of Washington Street on a charge of trespassing.

According to police reports, a plastic bag of methamphetamine fell to the ground during his arrest and he attempted to kick the bag under the police car. He is being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $15,000.

• Alex Lamar Peacock, 32, 2501 Culkin Road, was charge Dec. 29 with possession of methamphetamine. He was being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond.

• Three butane heaters valued at $839.97 each were reported taken about 9:34 a.m. Wednesday from the Vicksburg Water Mains Department warehouse, 110 North Washington St.

• A box containing power tools was reported taken Wednesday from a truck parked at the Days Inn, 90 Warrenton Road.

• A white Ford pickup, a generator valued at $1,100, and two power saws valued at $225 were reported taken about 8:50 a.m. Tuesday from C&W Mobile Homes, 5540 U.S. 61 South.

Vicksburg police made the following arrests between Sunday and Tuesday:

• Charlotte Joanne Thornton-Elliott, 48, 116 Marie Drive, was arrested about 3:58 p.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of Warrenton Road on a charge of petit larceny.

• Daniel Edward Stokes, 25, 549 Stenson Road, was arrested about 1:25 a.m. Tuesday on North Frontage Road on charges of first-offense DUI, possession of marijuana in a vehicle, no insurance, improper tag visibility and no tag.

• Warrants were served Monday on Dexter Rashawn Parson, 29, 907 Yazoo St.

• Warrants were served Monday on Eugene Austin Love Jr., 30, 528 Hill St.

• Ronald Lee Anderson, 42, 1800 China Grove Road, was arrested about 9:29 p.m. Monday at Mission 66 and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on charges of second-offense DUI, driving with a suspended license and improper equipment. He was also served with a warrant.

• Aaron Keith Wynn Jr., 307 Farmer St., was arrested about 3:29 p.m. in the 1800 block of Court Street on a charge of violating a protective order.

• Jalila Marie Barnes, 27, 2619 Ken Karyl Ave., was arrested about 12:50 p.m. Monday in the 800 block of Warrenton Road on charges of disorderly conduct and petit larceny.

• Brittany Strickland Harpole, 26, 2612 Ken Karyl Ave., was arrested about 12:50 p.m. Monday in the 800 block of Warrenton Road on charges of disorderly conduct and petit larceny.

• Warrants were served Monday on Alan Londal Watson, 67 Lottie Lane.

• A warrant was served Sunday on Hernando Martez Ross, 28, 3461 Mount Alban Road.

• Warrants were served Sunday on Dannie McKinley Brinkley, 57, 402 Locust St.

• Warrants were served on Myisha Lashay Jones, 21, 2001 Quality Drive, Searcy Arkansas, about 6:07 p.m. Sunday during a traffic stop at Spring and Clay streets.

• Aryon Delexis Petties, 18, 738 Central Ave., was arrested about 1:06 p.m. in the 700 block of Central Avenue on five counts of contempt of court.

• A warrant was served Sunday on Jocques Dewayne Pierce, 21, 801 Third North St.
