Local woman charged with selling meth

A Vicksburg woman was charged with sale of methamphetamine after her arrest Saturday at the Scottish Inn, 3955 Clay St.

Police Lt. Johnnie Edwards said Gwendolyn Pearl Ray, 33, 3955 Clay St., was arrested about 5:31 p.m. Saturday on a warrant charging her with the sale of methamphetamine. She was living at the hotel, Edwards said.

She was released on her own recognizance.

In other cases:

• A purse containing $979.90, and debit and credit cards was reported taken about 5:54 p.m. Saturday from a 2007 Toyota parked in the area of Clay and Washington streets.

• Shots were reported fired about 9:12 p.m. Saturday in the vicinity of Grove and First North streets.

• Two full-size mattresses, two full-size box springs, a 40-inch TV, metal and glass table, assorted kitchen supplies, an oak dresser, night stand and a Hewlett-Packard laptop computer were reported taken about 2:36 p.m. Friday from a storage shed in the 3400 block of Wisconsin Avenue.

• A report was filed by an individual about 2:25p.m. at the Vicksburg Police Department claiming someone applied in their name for three credit cards.

Vicksburg police made the following arrests between Friday and Sunday:

• A warrant was served Sunday on Alton Dewayne Sims, 37, 100 Kings Drive.

• Latonya Latrice Smith, 29, 21585 U.S. 61 South, Lorman was arrested about 7:29 p.m. Sunday in the 2100 block of Iowa Boulevard on a charge of first-offense shoplifting.

• Amy Lauren Armstrong-Watts, 36, 108 Stafford Drive, Delta, Louisiana, was arrested about 2:29 p.m. Sunday in the 3400 block of Halls Ferry Road on a charge of first-offense shoplifting.

Jason Wayne Ferguson, 37, 1692 Mississippi 27, was arrested about 1:27 p.m. Sunday at South Frontage Road and Old Highway 27 on a charge of contempt of court.

• Octavia Delast Wheatley, 38, 149 Meadowbrook Drive, was arrested about 3:44 a.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of Jackson Street on charges of failure to stop a motor vehicle when officer signals, no insurance and simple assault.

• A warrant was served Sunday during a traffic stop on Confederate Avenue to Amber Alexander Blackmore, 32, 111 Old Highway 80, Delta, Louisiana.

• Christopher Douglas Calloway, 45, 909 First East St., was arrested about 1:50 a.m. Sunday on Confederate Avenue on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

• Jeffery Delon Smith, 40, 701 Harris St., was arrested about 10:19 p.m. Saturday at Mission 66 and Grove Street on a charge of contempt of court. He was also served with warrants.

• Charvez Jervonte Anderson, 22, 3412 Washington St., was arrested about 7:45 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of Lee Street on a charge of contempt of court.

• Shyann Treashe Harper, 19, 1104 Avenue D, was arrested about 3:57 p.m. Saturday in the 3400 block of Halls Ferry Road on a charge of first-offense shoplifting.

• Warrants were served on Selena Faye Williams, 20, 110 Quinola Lane.

• Vernon Paul Hunter, 35, 2212 Grove St., was arrested about 4:12 a.m. Saturday at Clay Street and Mississippi 27 on charges of second-offense DUI, driving with a suspended license and giving false information to police.

• Rodchester Atkinson Jr., 46, 4808 Halls Ferry Road, was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Friday at Mission 66 and Baldwin Ferry on a charge of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Maurice Romal Andrews, 43, 609 Chapman Drive, Lancaster, Texas, was arrested about 2:37 p.m. Friday in the 4100 block of Washington Street on charges of trespassing and two counts of contempt of court.

• Brendan Scott Rodgers, 22, 605 Cain Ridge Road, was arrested about 11:32 a.m. Friday in the 2100 block of Iowa Boulevard on a charge of first-offense shoplifting.

• A warrant was served on Anquanet Denise Jones, 30, 202 Greenbriar Drive.

• Vandairrick Audette Spears, 23, 708 West Government St., Brandon, was arrested about 2:43 p.m. Friday in the 90 block of Warrenton Road on a charge of sale of methamphetamine.
