The Vicksburg Post switching to mail delivery

Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 6, The Vicksburg Post’s subscribers will receive their local news delivered right to their mailboxes.
The Post is changing to postal delivery to improve efficiency, consistency and timeliness of delivery.
“We have made the decision to entrust delivery of our newspaper to the most reliable delivery organization in our community, the U.S. Postal Service. This change will cause subscribers’ newspapers to be delivered with each day’s mail at a predictable time and in a predictable location,” said Jan Griffey, general manager of The Vicksburg Post. “We are pleased to make this upgrade in the quality and reliability of delivery and expect our readers will, also.”
In addition, the Sunday newspaper will become a weekend edition and will be delivered with Saturday’s mail.
“Readers will get a jump on sales and advertisers will get more bang for their buck as the weekend edition will have a longer shelf life than the previous Sunday edition,” Griffey said.
Each issue will continue to be available via retailers and from news racks, as now.
“This change makes us more efficient and positions us to put our full attention to news gathering and helping our advertising customers attract new customers and retain current customers,” Griffey said. “We appreciate all of our newspaper carriers who have partnered with us to deliver our newspapers over the years. We value their hard work and friendship and are working with each of them to make this a smooth transition for all involved.
“The Vicksburg Post is committed to providing the best in local news and sports coverage and places our highest priority on customer service and satisfaction,” Griffey said. “These moves will allow us to live up to that customer service standard.”
