Thelma Juanita Greer

Thelma Juanita Greer went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019.

A native of McCall Creek, she lived most of her adult life in Claiborne County. She was a homemaker whose passion was gardening. She was a longtime member of the Hermanville Baptist Church before becoming a member of the Port Gibson Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Monette Greer Sr.; grandsons, Brian K. Greer and Blaine Greer; five brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her four sons, Billie Monette (Mary Dell) Greer Jr., of Port Gibson, Jimmy E. (Peggie) Greer of Pattison, Gary Henry (Rindy) Greer of Houston, Texas and Charles Wayne (Lynn) Greer of Vicksburg; six grandchildren, including Victor Greer, William Greer and Jacob Greer; 13 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at the Port Gibson Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Gammel officiating. Interment followed in the Hermanville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jeff Greer, Kevin Greer, Brian Greer II, Jacob Greer, Cavin Greer, William Greer, Brian Greer III and Charles Emfinger.

Honorary pallbearers were Mike Golmon, Burnice Trevilion, Patsy Cunningham and Dollie Harrison.

Memorials may be made to the Port Gibson Baptist Church, 804 Church St., Port Gibson, MS 39150.
