Ausbun J. Wilds (Mr. Buck) passed away on Jan. 13, 2019, at the VA Nursing Home in Jackson. He was 94 years old.

Mr. Wilds was preceded in death by a grandson, Kenneth Wayne Dyar; a daughter, Louis Wilds Mahoney; and son, Nathan Wilds.

Mr. Wilds was born in Port Arthur, Texas, retired from the Air Force at age 40, then made Vicksburg his home in 1964. After his retirement, he began a career in construction, building mobile home parks in Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana. He was an avid musician with a love of country music offering “Bucks Country Playhouse” as a gathering place for local musicians to join in fellowship and practicing their musical talents.

Mr. Wilds is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty (Miss Ann) Annette Wilds; son Grady (Barbara) Wilds of Mena, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Mary Wilds of Vicksburg; daughter, Vicki (Jon) Covatch of Terry; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Fisher Funeral Home, 1830 Cherry St., Vicksburg, on Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at 1 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following in the chapel at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Greg Clemts officiating.
