Bond has been set at $150,000 for a Vicksburg man who reportedly fired several shots into a home early Thursday morning.

Jeffrey Kyle McGuffie, 31, 1007 Polk St., is charged with six counts of attempted aggravated assault. His bond was set at an initial appearance Friday in Vicksburg Municipal Court. He is being held in the Warren County Jail.

He is accused of firing several shots into a home in the 1000 block of Avenue D about 2:56 a.m. Thursday and leaving the area. No one in the home was injured and police recovered a 9mm handgun.

• In another case, a Vicksburg woman faces a charge of possession of methamphetamine after her arrest Saturday by Vicksburg police.

Veronica Lynn Lewis, 55, 24 Wigwam Road, was arrested about 12:08 a.m. Sunday on Halls Ferry Road at Interstate 20 after a traffic stop for an expired car tag.
